Lantern Sky 02:55
Pulling up on Ohio, high on the sun thought I’d be a teacher instead of leeching to the pavement. Going over the lies from the stanzas dry, cigarettes have never dreamed of seeing this side of me. Though I’m a waste of time, light me up and I’ll go flying on I could use a glass eye and a loaded gun, the side effects of gazing in empty bedrooms. Heart sprained and grey, hiding from the lungs doctors have never dreamed of seeing this side of me. I’m a waste of time, light me up and I’ll go flying on I’m so goddamn scared of time, let’s settle on a place to die and rip the cord on this fleeting glimpse of a bleeding paradise.

Holding on to your shadow while I drive over the red lines, under your moonlight. You’ve been gone up in Colorado, chasing flies right into beehives, under your moonlight. Holding on to your shadow while I drive.

Bulb 04:35
Why won’t you listen to me? I’m trying to get over you, trying to forget all the kinds of blue swimming around in my head. Once in a while, the birds come undone and they burst into our living room yellow feathers swoop over the blankets and gloom. We had a lifetime to go, but April said no. Sad old policeman dying alone with his parachute spread out all over his dreams of youth the wind blew his wisdom that day. We had a lifetime to go, but April said no.

The remedy for poison snow is new blood on your window. But don’t set the house on fire and don’t be lonely. The river’s skunked and chewed to shreds, the geese sense our common dread. Don’t set the house on fire (don’t forget to kiss me baby) and don’t be lonely (I hope you don’t forget me). Who’s that black rider at our door, who’s that black rider at our door? The remedy for poison snow is new blood on your window. So let’s set the house on fire, (don’t forget to kiss me baby) let’s be lonely (I hope you don’t forget me).

Cave 03:08
Ten thousand sunrises ago, painting horses. Smudged, fucked horses render my shame. That night when you came in my car, Marseilles beckoned us to the mountain in the glow of the rain. Ten thousand sunrises ago, painting horses. Smudged, fucked horses render my shame.

Turning Gold 02:16
In this barley breeze, time’s a disease where I don’t feel anything. All my sense roar and I’ll live one day more as a fly in amber. Step outside, it looks like the tide is turning gold. Drain the wine, we’ll need a clear mind we’re growing so old. Some day my paintings’ll glean in some sailor’s dream and my bones’ll glisten. All your sense blur as the neighbors get word of my execution.

There’s a horse in the corner of the living room living in a film, so slow, so full of cracked up actors and she just wants to run out and roam Dakotas Like a spaceship humming before it takes off and goes, feedback redirects her to Buffalo and blows all her lights out. Where’s the town we used to know? It doesn’t get any bluer. Don’t elect her with your ugly prayers and teach her, with the lights on, she’s drifting into smoke and mirrors, smoking texaco grids, in awe of all this frost Burning out her candles burning out right on time, meanwhile I’m sleeping around the edges of reason or rhyme, a goddamn architect killing time. It doesn’t get any bluer.

Godspeed 04:26
Living alone’s the last thing I remember; you said I fainted and bled on the rug like I was thunder, felt like a bird plummeting underwater, rose up feast on the sun sneering back at me, said “godspeed, godspeed, godspeed.” Going back home in an airline that gave me you, I’m a cyclical pyre, an excuse if you want it, and I can’t decide who I am in this moment. Can I lie with you or someone like you, or someone like you? And if I was a queen, I’d lie in bed and sing “godspeed, godspeed,” and I was a king I’d sit around and scream “godspeed, godspeed.” A symptom of absence is seeing flamingos fly By every hour there could’ve been someone there, waiting for you. A herd of coyotes sulking through the valley, The word’s that a colorful rain’d be blowing in. Godspeed, godspeed, godspeed. I’m a cyclical pyre, an excuse if you want it.

The kerosene sings tonight, and the moon’ll drown (in due haze), and the deer’ll fade (in due haze), life goes slow (in due haze).

“Lantern Sky”

Pulling up on Ohio, high on the sun
thought I’d be a teacher
instead of leeching to the pavement.
Going over the lies from the stanzas dry,
cigarettes have never dreamed
of seeing this side of me.

Though I’m a waste of time,
light me up and I’ll go flying on

I could use a glass eye and a loaded gun,
the side effects of gazing
in empty bedrooms.
Heart sprained and grey, hiding from the lungs
doctors have never dreamed
of seeing this side of me.

I’m a waste of time,
light me up and I’ll go flying on

I’m so goddamn scared of time,
let’s settle on a place to die
and rip the cord on this fleeting glimpse of
a bleeding paradise.

“Your Moonlight”

Holding on to your shadow
while I drive over the red lines,
under your moonlight.

You’ve been gone up in Colorado,
chasing flies right into beehives,
under your moonlight.

Holding on to your shadow
while I drive.

“Bulb”

Why won’t you listen to me?
I’m trying to get over you,
trying to forget all the kinds of blue
swimming around in my head.

Once in a while, the birds come undone
and they burst into our living room
yellow feathers swoop
over the blankets and gloom.

We had a lifetime to go,
but April said no.

Sad old policeman
dying alone with his parachute
spread out all over his dreams of youth
the wind blew his wisdom that day.

We had a lifetime to go,
but April said no.

“Plainstalking”

The remedy
for poison snow
is new blood
on your window.

But don’t set the house on fire
and don’t be lonely.

The river’s skunked
and chewed to shreds,
the geese sense
our common dread.

Don’t set the house on fire
(don’t forget to kiss me baby)
and don’t be lonely
(I hope you don’t forget me).

Who’s that black rider at our door,
who’s that black rider at our door?

The remedy
for poison snow
is new blood
on your window.

So let’s set the house on fire,
(don’t forget to kiss me baby)
let’s be lonely
(I hope you don’t forget me).

“Cave”

Ten thousand sunrises ago,
painting horses.
Smudged, fucked horses
render my shame.

That night when you came in my car,
Marseilles beckoned
us to the mountain
in the glow of the rain.

Ten thousand sunrises ago,
painting horses.
Smudged, fucked horses
render my shame.

“Soot and Scranton Rain”

“Turning Gold”

In this barley breeze,
time’s a disease
where I don’t feel anything.
All my sense roar
and I’ll live one day more
as a fly in amber.

Step outside,
it looks like the tide
is turning gold.
Drain the wine,
we’ll need a clear mind
we’re growing so old.

Some day my paintings’ll glean
in some sailor’s dream
and my bones’ll glisten.
All your sense blur
as the neighbors get word
of my execution.

“It Doesn’t Get Any Bluer”

There’s a horse in the corner of the living room
living in a film, so slow, so full of
cracked up actors
and she just wants to run out
and roam Dakotas

Like a spaceship humming
before it takes off and goes,
feedback redirects her to Buffalo
and blows all her lights out.
Where’s the town we used to know?

It doesn’t get any bluer.

Don’t elect her with your ugly prayers and teach her,
with the lights on, she’s drifting into
smoke and mirrors, smoking texaco grids,
in awe of all this frost

Burning out her candles
burning out right on time,
meanwhile I’m sleeping around
the edges of reason or rhyme,
a goddamn architect killing time.

It doesn’t get any bluer.

“Downpour”

“Godspeed”

Living alone’s the last thing I remember;
you said I fainted and bled
on the rug like I was thunder,
felt like a bird plummeting underwater,
rose up feast on the sun sneering back at me,
said “godspeed, godspeed, godspeed.”

Going back home in an airline that gave me you,
I’m a cyclical pyre, an excuse if you want it,
and I can’t decide who I am in this moment.
Can I lie with you or someone like you,
or someone like you?

And if I was a queen,
I’d lie in bed and sing
“godspeed, godspeed,”
and I was a king
I’d sit around and scream
“godspeed, godspeed.”

A symptom of absence is seeing flamingos fly
By every hour there could’ve been someone there,
waiting for you.
A herd of coyotes sulking through the valley,
The word’s that a colorful rain’d be blowing in.
Godspeed, godspeed, godspeed.

I’m a cyclical pyre, an excuse if you want it.

“In Due Haze”

The kerosene sings tonight,
and the moon’ll drown (in due haze),
and the deer’ll fade (in due haze),
life goes slow (in due haze).

“The Highway”

Dying on the side of the road.
